Terms of Service

Welcome to dishd. These terms are an agreement between you and dishd ("we", "us") covering your use of the dishd iOS app. Before creating an account or logging in, you must explicitly accept them.

1. Who can use dishd

You must be at least 16 years old to use dishd. We ask you to explicitly confirm this at sign-up or login; dishd does not collect or retain your date of birth. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure.

2. Your content

dishd is built around content you create: saved recipes, photos, reviews, and your profile. You own your content. By posting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute it within dishd so the app can work — for example, showing your review to your followers. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except that (a) copies may persist briefly in backups or caches before they are purged, and (b) content retained under our reports and moderation process (see the Privacy Policy) stays covered by this license solely for safety and legal compliance.

3. Community rules — zero tolerance

dishd has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You may not post content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, illegal, deceptive, spam, or that infringes anyone's rights. You may not impersonate others or misuse another person's content or likeness.

We provide tools to report any review or user and to block any user. We review every report within 24 hours. When a report identifies objectionable content or abusive behavior, we remove the content and suspend or eject the user who posted it within that moderation window. We may also remove any content or terminate any account that violates these terms, at our discretion, without notice.

4. Recipes and food safety

Recipes on dishd link to content created by third parties on other platforms. We don't verify recipes and aren't responsible for their accuracy or outcomes. Use your own judgment about food safety, allergens, and dietary restrictions. Dishd may use an algorithm-first extractor and Anthropic to suggest a title, ingredients, and steps from a submitted link's caption or page metadata. Suggestions may contain errors and are provided for convenience only — always verify them against the original source before cooking.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to interfere with the operation of dishd, attempt to access other users' accounts or data, scrape the service, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

6. Termination

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. The app starts a server-side workflow that removes active account data and storage objects before deleting the authentication account; a temporary failure may require retrying. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Disclaimers

dishd is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as dishd evolves. If changes are material, we'll notify you in the app. Continuing to use dishd after changes take effect means you accept them.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold dishd harmless from claims arising out of content you post or your misuse of the service.

10. Third-party terms

dishd links to recipes hosted by third parties (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and others). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, not ours. Apple is not a party to this agreement and has no responsibility for the app; Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.
